                                                  Name of the Department: Assamese

Udali college is established on 1995.From this time Assamese Department is a main part of our college. The founder teacher of our department was Mrs Rita Sharma. The college started major course in Assamese in the year 2010.Present principal Dr Arun Borah from Assamese Department. Since 2010 many students passed from our department.

1)MAJOR(Last 5 year)                       

Aims and objectives of Assamese Department.

1.To organized seminars ,Research work,workshops,Group Discussion on various topics as well as Department Level.

2.Try to development reading habbits for slow learners.

3.All faculty members always try to create an environment of friend philosopher and guide between teachers and students of the college.

4.The department has been organizing educational field trip to increase their knowledge.

Semester wise action plan for teaching

1.Admission policy:The admission process has been undertaken by the admission committee constituted as per guide lines of the college authority.

2.Qualifying test held on the fourth week of the first month for major students.The dept. of assamese initiates qualifying test(written)for taking major in assamese dept.

3.Slow learners are identified on the basis of classroom intersections, assignments and performance in the sessional exam specially.

Details of infrastructural facilities:

   a)Library:      Yes, there is a Department library with 100 books.

    b)Computer & Internet facilities: NIL

    c)Classroom with ITC                    :NIL

 Other activities by the department:    Some important activities like Shilpi Divash, Rabha Divash, World poetry day,International Mother Language day are organized by the Assamese dept.

 

Weakness:The department is running  with three assistant professors of group A. We need a group  B specialisation faculty immediately for student satisfaction.

CHALLENGE: Basically the college is situated in a rural area. Major students come from poor families and minorty society.So there family members think only about their marriages.So Higher education is challengeble for them.

FUTURE PLAN:1.We are planning to published a ISBN book from our Assamese department.

2.We are planning to make a cultural museum in our Department.

3.Assamese department  plans to oraganized intercollege seminar,Workshop and FDP etc.
